8 bidders for PMC contract of Kochi Metro Phase 2


Back on 3rd September, Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) opened technical bids for Kochi Metro Phase 2S The Project Management Consultant had submitted tenders to disclose 8 firms.

Package KBPMC-01 is the first significant pre-construction tender for this brand new phase, which will have an 11.2 km new elevated corridor, named Pink Line, with 11 stations connecting JLN Stadium – Kakkanad – Infopark/Smart City.


The State Cabinet of the Government of Kerala had approved the construction of Phase 2 with an estimated cost in July 2018. 2,310 crore, and the approval of the Union Government is currently pending.

KMRL did invited tenders The assigned PMC for this consultation service is expected to be onboard for a further 1643 days (4.5 years) in February 2021.

11 stations of Pink Line will be built at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium blue line), Palarivattam Junction, Palarivattam Bypass, Chembumukku, Vazhakkala, Padamugal (formerly Kunnumapuram), Kakkanad Junction, Cochin SEZ (Special Economic Zone), Chittehukara, KINFRA (formerly Rajgiri), and Infopark/Smart City (connected to Kochi Water Metro) Happened). As mentioned earlier, a station planned at Infopark 1 is no longer operating.

The appointment of PMC will be on the basis of QCBS (Quality and Cost based selection) with a two stage (Technical and Financial score-based) process for evaluation of proposals.


Earlier, KMRL had appointed Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for Phase 1 (Aluva to Petta) and Step 1B. For RV Associates (SN Junction to Tripunithura) PMC roles.
