Kochi, India (Urban Transport News): Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has received bids from eight firms for its Project Management Consultancy contract for Phase 2 of the Kochi Metro Rail Project. The contract package was disclosed after the opening of technical bids of KBPMC-01 on 3rd September 2021.
Tender was invited for Project Management Consultant for Phase-II Corridor from JLN Stadium to Infopark Via Kakkanad of Kochi Metro Rail Project in February 2021. The following firms have submitted their bids for providing Project Management Consultancy Services for Phase 2:
- Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL)
- RITES LTD
- Systra MVA Consulting India Pvt. Ltd.
- RV Associates Architects Engineers & Consultants Pvt. Ltd.
- AECOM India Pvt. Ltd.
- Tata Consulting Engineers Limited (TCE)
- Louis Berger Consulting Pvt. Ltd.
- SMEC (India) Private Limited
Now, bids have been sent for evaluation of the contract. Once the evaluation is complete, the tender committee of KMRL will open the financial bids of the contract to reveal the lowest bidder. The work is to be completed in 4.5 years from the date of award.
The 11.2 km corridors between JLN Stadium to Infopark 2 under Phase 2 of the Kochi Metro Rail Project was approved by the State Cabinet, Government of Kerala in July 2018. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 2,310 crore. A total of 11 stations will be built at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Palarivattam Junction, Palarivattam Bypass, Chembumukku, Vazhakkala, Padamugal, Kakkanad Junction, Cochin SEZ (Special Economic Zone), Chittehukara, Kinfra, Infopark 1 and Infopark 2.
