Chennai, India (Urban Transport News): Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) on 26 November 2021 launched a global tender notice for ten elevated metro stations of Corridor 3 of Chennai Metro Rail Project, Phase 2.

Design of approximately 10 km of elevated viaduct including elevated ramps and ten elevated metro stations at Nehru Nagar, Kandachavadi, Perungudi, Thoraipakkam, Mettukuppam, PTC Colony, Okkiyampet, Karapakkam, Okkiyam Thoripakkam and Sholinganallur for Phase 2 of Chennai Metro and Construction .

The 45.81 km corridor 3 of Chennai Metro will run from Madhavaram Milk Colony to Siruseri Sippkot 2. The line will have 48 metro stations, of which 29 are underground and the rest 19 are elevated.
