Kolkata Metro is the first metro system in India. It has been a vital part of the city’s public transportation network for decades and has been expanded with multiple lines to improve connectivity.
Currently, there are 4 operational, 1 under construction, and 1 planned lines. Now Kolkata Metro network has 48 active stations, 51 Inactive Stations.
Presently, the network of Metro Railway covers 47.165 km in length which is likely to be enhanced by new sanctioned projects of 86.07 km in due course of time covering entire length and breadth of the mega-city.
