Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft was successfully launched onboard LVM-3 on 14th July, 2023 at 14:35 hrs from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR.
India's Chandrayaan-3 mission will reach the Moon after a journey of over 40 days
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) revealed that the cost of Chandrayaan-3 was around Rs 615 crore (US$75 million).
The landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon is scheduled for August 23, 2023.
The mission duration of Chandrayaan-3 is expected to be one year. This means that the spacecraft will be able to operate on the lunar surface for up to 365 days.
The mission's goal is to soft-land a spacecraft on the lunar surface near the South Pole.
S. Mohana Kumar is appointed for the mission Chandrayaan-3. He is a senior scientist from the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.
The mission is equipped with a number of scientific instruments, including a lunar terrain camera, a spectrometer, and a magnetometer.
