Inter Miami CF defeated Charlotte FC 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the Leagues Cup on Wednesday night at DRV PNK Stadium.
Lionel Messi scored twice for Inter Miami, his seventh and eighth goals in his first four games for the club.
Josef Martinez scored the first goal from a penalty, and gives Inter Miami a 1-0 lead.
Robert Taylor scored the second one to double Miami's lead.
"When you have Messi, you know he just needs a chance. He just needs one second," Charlotte coach Christian Lattanzio said.
Charlotte FC players also played very well but they are unlucky not to score a goal, but Charlotte FC put in a good performance overall.
Inter Miami are into the Leagues Cup semifinals with a 4-0 win over Charlotte FC in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Friday.
Messi and the team is ready for there next match against Philadelphia.
